Safari or Firefox?

After the recent release of Safari for Windows a friend of mine said it was no big deal as not even Mac users use Safari. So what do other Mac users use for web browsing? Firefox?

I use Firefox, but i do still like Safari. The fact that it can use colour profiles properly is quite a big thing in my opinion, and now they have a release on Windows, hopefully everyone else will pick up on it as well :)

Safari crashes a lot less than Firefox, and also doesn't have all the memory issues FF has on OS X!

I can't stand Safari, it's an awful browsing experience. It lacks basic functions and for an Apple product is really unintuitive.

Unfortunately the browsing experience on Mac OS isn't great. I use Opera because I like the integrated web/email experience and limited RAM usage (only 512MiB here), and because it's far more stable and more standards compliant than Firefox or Safari.

When Mozilla pull their fingers out and produce a version of Firefox that's as good as Windows I may try it.

I use Firefox.

The current Safari simply doesn't do what I want, nor does the 3.0 beta, it's one step closer, but it's unstable.

For example, clicking a link and holding the click to open the drop down menu, then you can click open link in new tab.

In safari you're still forced to right click for the drop down menu, or hold apple and click the link.

Safari lacks right click and view image, to view images hosted on imageshack and photobucket etc properly, it's vital.

Once they sort those out, I'll use it full time.

I use Safari 3 and its awesome!

I used Firefox for most of the time, then tried Camino then a few other then went back to Safari.

Safari

Loads quicker, looks better, my bookmarks sync between my Mac's and it never crashes.

Firefox' plugins have never interested me.

Nope. SafariStand fixes this and even works with Safari 3. All external links open in a new tab for me with a single click.

The only thing I would like with Safari is a decent adblocker. Ads don't really bother me but it would be better.

I downloaded Safari 3 Beta for Windows yesterday and whilst it is quick all text is much bolder than IE7. Is this the same on a Mac or is it just a Windows issue?

JUST IN!

New safari Beta 3.0.2

Changes in Safari 3.0.2 for Windows beta:

Changes in Safari 3.0.2 for Mac OS X beta:

EDIT- Installed through software update and much more stable on a couple sites that crashed it before, seems a tad faster.

Dont you just right click and view in new window? Have i missed something?

That's not the point I made.

In firefox you can just click and hold it to right click, the drop down menu comes down to open link in new tab, allowing you to do it with just one hand and quickly, opposed to holding ctrl and click or two fingers on the track pad and clicking for right click, or holding apple and clicking a link.

And with the add on Jet mentioned, that opens all links in a new tab, which isn't really what I meant.

It doesn't sound like much, but it makes things a lot easier and quicker when you need to open a lot of tabs when you're in an awkard position like slobbing out on the couch :p

And there is still the feature of view image that safari is lacking.

I find the text to be a god send in Safari. Although its probably because I am a 1600x1200 res user. I can see it been an annoyance at lower res
I'm running at 1920x1200. Will download the latest Beta and report back.

I only use one hand? Ive got the Wireless mighty mouse. I just right click using this mouse and can open a imageshack image into a new window.

If your using a Mighty Mouse, have you set right click in the system preferences?
