Hi,

At some point last year Youtube added this button to their player that lets you expand the player video size, during playback. It used to work for me, and now it doesn't.

I have Safari 4.0.4 (6531.21.10), Flash 10.0.45.2 (click here to check), and Snow Leapord 10.6.2.

Works fine on Firefox on my Macbook Pro so just wondering if it is my Safari, or just the current Safari on Mac in general that is causing this issue.

If I press the button whilst the player window is small, then the player adjusts in size, but the video doesn't:

If I then refresh the page the video reloads in the correct larger player window.

If I press the button whilst the player windows is large, then the window shrinks, but only shows me the top corner of the current playback video, in frozen state, again reloading the page will now show my video in the smaller window.

hopefully some of you Mac owners can test this and see if it is just my machine or common to all similar configurations. (Also if anyone knows what that button is called it might make googling the problem a bit easier for me)

Same things are happening here for me, but they correct themselves after a second without having to refresh.

Not sure how you could resolve it.

Mine used to do the same (resolve itself in a second or two), which was fine, but they are now stuck in the screenshot-ed state until I refresh the page. Can you confirm which versions of Flash/Safari etc you are using?

I had "clicktoflash" installed, which I just removed, made no difference. Now I know that you have the correct functionality I am determined to get mine like that!

Sure.

Safari 4.0.4 (6531.21.10)
Flash 10,0,42,34

Seems, I'm using a slightly older build of Flash I'll update now and see if I get the same bug as you.

Upgraded and have the same problem as you now. When I make the video larger if I scroll a little bit, it corrects the video, but that doesn't work when making the video smaller.

Have to wait for a fix from Adobe or go back to an older version I guess.

You are a LEGEND!!! First I felt bad that the upgrade messed yours up, but now I tried some scrolling and it works for me in both cases (using two finger scrolling).

When making it larger a tiny scroll resizes it, when making it smaller a bit more scrolling is needed.

Edit: A bit more investigation shows that an "up" scroll fixes when the video goes form large>small (so you may need to go down then up) and any direction scroll fixes when going from small>large.

Haha it's okay, I use Google Chrome mostly which doesn't seem to have the same problem. *fingers crossed*

No probs, thanks again :) I like Safari on Mac so much I am loathed to change to Firefox or Chrome and would have ended up with tolerating the problem. Just shows a different set of eyes can often fix a small problem.

As a bonus this is the video I was watching and trying to resize when the problem annoyed me so much that i posted here:
