I own HP DV5 Laptop (AMD Turion X2). It is out of warranty.
Many games such as black ops seem to only run under 1024x600 resolution otherwise it would lag.

I undervolted the cpu. CPUID used to show 32.50W @ 2.1ghz (temp did go ver 85 degrees when playing games)
now its showing 28.00W @2 .1 (Stable) temperature doesnt go over 65 degrees

does that sound fine? also i overclocked the graphics card with same voltage :D
ATI mobility radeon 3450

GPU - 500 to 645
Memory 500 to 645

CPUID doesnt show any temp difference... 2 or 3 degrees higher. Maximum is 55 degrees

I've played black ops @ 1280x800 without any lag and crysis with most options on high (DX9) burnout paradise...

I havent had any reboots. it seems to be stable. Is safe to continue using the laptop like this or should i stop overclocking?

How safe is CPU overclocking?
The fan is on its slowest speed because it starts spinning fast @ 65 degrees so it doesnt really spin fast. Only odd times...
It used to run at its maximum speed when playing COD..

thanks :D :D
ps. I'm new to this forum so be nice :D

Laptops don't usually overclock well due to their difficulty in keeping cool. If things are stable, and temperatures are good then you are doing ok. If you want a big boost in performance you need a better laptop, or if you want to overclock properly, a desktop.

thanks for the reply, I'm really happy with the temperatures because they are lower then before... but a bit scared about burning it :L
i could buy a new one but im not in a state of affording an expensive laptop right now

If the temperatures are good you should be ok. I'm not guaranteeing that though :)

If you can't afford a replacement think carefully before overclocking. There's always a risk, especially with a laptop.

i cant seem to find any software to overclock the cpu.
bios is locked so i cant overclock from there. are there any softwares which can allow me to overclock?
