Safe temps?

Im pretty new to overclocking and such. I've looking at overclocking my Q6700 somewhat.

Mainly what temperatures should i be paying most attention to when overclocking my cpu?.

Example using HWmonitor it gives the "CPUTIN" temperature then the 4 Core temperatures.

When looking at idle and load temps, is CPUTIN the reading that most people refer to?

Under prime im getting max temps of 40 CPUTIN and 55,49,44,49 on the 4 cores. with a mild o/c at 3ghz

Are these temps safe? if so what is the upper limit of the CPU temp and the core temps?

Hope im making some sence :)

Cheers.

Most go by the core temps, well when they are posting anyways.

I myself don't care what the core temps are as i go by the CPUTIN temp as each cpu has a Max CPUTIN yours is 62.2°C, so aslong as u keep that temp below that you will be fine. Also make sure to enable thermal control on your motherboard (no sure what each maker calls it) and that way if the temp goes over that, it will shut down.
