Hey,
So I've recently installed a new SSD into a friends laptop and now getting the itch to stick one in my Macbook Pro 2012. I was thinking of using one of those adapters that fills the space of the DVD drive and adds room for a 2.5" drive for a 250GB SSD.
Just making sure that before I order anything that it'll be safe. I mean I know lots of people do it but I've read in places that SATA power for the DVD drive isn't designed to power a HDD/SSD and can cause fire, death etc.
Is this true or is the DVD bay perfectly capable?
Cheers.
