I know it's far from a scientific study and you are entitled to an opinion but there appears to be 14 thumbs up in this thread and one thumbs down so your experience would seem to be the one that is few and far between.

I think you may find that your findings are far and few between m8, and that most people are having a positive experience with Windows 7
