Hi all,
Pc spec below..

I've managed to get it stable at 4.8ghz in cinebanch and realbench with a 1.4vcore.

Temps hitting about 72c max.. do I keep pushing the multi or start looking for a lower stable vcore?

Don't really want to up vcore more for 24/7 gaming and general use.

Just to add, ive got it at 4.9 now, cinebench runs, and so does realbench, but the video encoding test in realbench errors.

I have no gpu, just using igpu on the cpu if that makes any difference.

Im not sure what that means for stability, as the other tests run ok.

Temps max at 74 but that's with the side off the case, and I don't have the central heating on at the min, so the room is fairly cool, but not cold, just comfortable.

Getting BSOD at 5ghz on windows password screen.

Only settings ive changed are
Cpu multi
Vcore
LLC = high
Xmp enabled to run ram at stock 3000mhz

Any tips?

I would try with a gpu first.

I often try with ram at stock as well, sometimes it's worth sacrificing ram speed and timings for a higher core clock.

Personally I wouldn't push vcore any more without better cooling.
 
What cooler are you using? Temps and voltage are fine but I wouldn't push any more voltage now. If you're almost stable at 4.9 1.4v then I would think you could lower the vcore at 4.8, thats what I would aim for anyway :)
 
Thanks, I'll be buying a gpu un the next week or so, probably a gtx1060 or rx480.

Will that help or hinder the cpu overclock do you think, can I disable the igpu?

Ive backed down to 4.8ghz, and see if I can lower the vcore a bit as at 4.9ghz it seems a bit of a suicide run as to whether it crashes during cinebanch or realbench.

It looks a bit warm after a few stable runs at 4.8ghz

You can't properly gauge stability from running a few benchmarks. You need to leave a stress test running for a few hours. I like to leave mine running overnight so it doesn't interrupt my use of the PC. A good allround test is to run realbench stress test and a 3D application like Uniengine Valley, that way everything gets stressed.
 
Yeh thanks, im aware of that, at the moment I'm just really getting some ball park ideas of what I can push for, I don't even have a graphics card yet, maybe that will have an influence for better or worse, so I figured I won't dial in the final cpu overclock fully yet.

End of the day it just needs to be game stable for my uses.
