Safety boots

As a guy who's work required I wear some form of working boot, invariably with steel toe caps, all my working life I would say comfort is the paramount consideration if you are going to be wearing then for 8+ hours a day. I have had cheap boots that were great and expensive boots and that were horrible and vice versa. Always hated rigger boots as stuff had a tendency to fall down them.

Brand of choice would have to be Dickies who also do some trainer style footwear with steel toecaps and are very comfortable, still have a pair now for when I am strimming the grass etc.

They're used by Police Riot Support - steel toecaps, steel midsole to prevent puncture from nails etc - waterproof and very very comfy.

They'll last a while and can be resoled. I've had the non psu version (no steel toe cap) for over 4 years and I've just replaced them with a new pair.

Can recommend these too, I have a pair of the P1's and they have been fantastic so far.

I have found spending a bit extra on boots pays of in the long wrong. Previously I had a pair of jolly explorers which must be 6 years old now. Only changed them as I fancied a pair of lighter boots. Kept them as a spare pair.

I see people regularly spending £50-60 on boots and having to replace them each year. Seems a false economy to me!

Do they have an EN rating anywhere can’t spot it.

Don't think so as I they were a gift from a mate in the States. They do, however, adhere to and exceed all the relevant US ratings.

I have some Trojan waterproof steel toe boots that are great.

Loved my dewalt boots, just got Himalayan ones and they were ok for a month or two but are already wearing faster than I would expect, my dewalt boots lasted for ages.

Don't think so as I they were a gift from a mate in the States. They do, however, adhere to and exceed all the relevant US ratings.

If they have no EN I don’t think they can be sold in the UK. Handy if you have someone in the states though.

Life of a work boot completely depends on what you use them for and how you treat them.
