Sainsburys

I had a suspicious 0144 number call me early, which I promptly ignored.

*Slaps head for not booking a sooner delivery slot*

Dammit.. i didnt order because i didnt need to buy alcohol.. but could have bought a tonne of Loo roll.. with 7 lads in the house we go through it like a hot knife through air..

4 people I know how now received theirs, 2 were completely loaded with booze, 2 were normal shops.

Mines not booked in till Sat :(

Theres an article on the BBC Website

Sainsbury's said only some customers would get their orders.

Although "a handful" of orders had already been fulfilled, the supermarket said, other customers would be contacted by local stores and offered the choice of either paying the difference or cancelling the order.

I live in herts, had 2 orders booked, one food and one beer.

The beer one has turned up so thats all I care about. The food one should come later.

I'm happy :)

Glad to see this discussion back up, there was also an article in the Daily Mail today on page 20. Was an interesting read, but from what i regard is a highly unreliable source.

Mines not due till Sunday either, this is proving to be very exciting.

I had a missed call from a withheld number about 10 minutes ago, wasnt sainsburys but i was panicing a little. :D

My next order is scheduled for monday. I imagine that one will get cancelled. which aint good, cos its got more important items on :( lol

OMG

Guy just turned up with the delivery, there's alcohol there, I show him my passport (i'm 18) and he says you've got to be 21 to buy ciggerettes or alcohol and starts saying about the 'think 21' policy.

He's just gone back to his van to phone them up to check.

A retail law expert told the BBC that in general internet orders were binding on a retailer as soon as confirmation was sent back to the shopper.

But, said Shoosmiths partner Gary Assim, there was an obligation on the consumer not to abuse an error.

In this case, he said, Sainsbury's could argue the consumer made the offer in bad faith.

"The law's probably on their side," he said, "but from a PR perspective they may consider doing something else."

Just had a look at my bank accout, my available balance is £23 less than my account balance. Looks like I got a good deal :D
Now if they would only arrive.

Have you had an e-mail or call? I just phoned the bank of the card I used, and they say the money has been "earmarked", and they won't know until tomorrow if it's actually going to be taken or "released"...

If they take the money, I'm going after them. If they release it, no big deal.
