Saints Row 2 makes fun of GTA4.

It has a point. GTAIV became a little too serious for me. But then my fav GTA is GTA3 because it reminded me of State of emergency (from R* I know). I just want to blow stuff up. GTAIV was a little bit more serious than that.

Plus watching TV in a game... on your TV. :p
 
Smart move imo, no point in trying to ignore the fact that GTA IV exists.

It's taken my interest level above zero at least.

Sorry to tell you this. But there will never be another GTA4 game :p

Anyway R* are going to milk DLC. They had their chance to up the ante with GTAIV. They did it and it's a great game (completed) but it lost some of it's sandbox element.
 
saints row 2 will be better then GTA 4 imo.

GTA 4 is good but it lacks variety. i dont think the dlc will add it either. Im confident the guys that do SR now they are ripping gta and what its faults are and what everybody actually wants to do. if they slap a really good sandbox experience onto a good sp game they will rock and i think they will.
 
SR was a great little game, GTA 4 ZOMGLOL 4 years in development etc. it was good but nothing special or new, SR 2 will be the same as GTA 4 but what GTA 4 should have been.

SR2 is on my pre-order list.
 
Saints Row 2 will be the game GTA4 should have been, and by that I mean still good after the first couple of hours
 
Meh. Saints Row is missing the razor-sharp satire that made the GTA games so fun. I doubt I'll be buying the second one now that I can play GTA.
 
I'm loving GTAIV and think it's a brilliant game. I will pick up SR2 as I love these sandbox games but I think they have a long way to go before they take the number one spot imo.
