Saints Row Third poor FPS

Right chaps, sorted

And the Saints Row Third FPS killer is.......ULTRA lighting detail:D

Set to ultra <30 fps
Set to high 50-60 fps

All else set to high with 4 x MSAA, 16 x AF with Vsync on.

Having checked the display config in the game folder, Lighting detail can be set from 0-3 with 0 being off & 3 being ultra.

Funnily enough, after messing with the display options in game, I lost the option to assign ultra lighting with only high being available.
I had to re-enable in the display config which then showed showed ultra in the display options in game.

Glad it's sorted

Cheers:)

Just wondering if someone can check something for me please.

I get a near constant 60fps in-game which is great.

However cut scenes drop to 30fps, is this "normal"?

It really takes away from the experience.

I'm wondering why the framerate drops in cut scenes, anyone know, and can anyone run fraps and see if their cutscenes drop to 30fps.

I've noticed this in other games too. Fine in-game but cut scenes and pre-rendered scenes drop to 30fps

Cheers

It is a console port so cut scenes will just be a straight transfer from consoles which will play at 30fps. This is normal on most games actually with cutscenes. Cutscenes would have to be remade at a higher framerate which would take a lot of time up.

Cheers, that makes perfect sense.

Initially thought it might have been a setting or something wrong somewhere.
