I think what it is for me is that it lacks the atmosphere of San Andreas. Saints row is absolutely fantastic and i'm hooked on it at the minute as there's no doubt about it graphics and gameplay are more enticing, it's just the whole story and theme of San Andreas that were so engrossing.
I disagree, Rockstar just used the pop-ghetto style where it was ****** this, ****** that and knew it would appeal to adolescent teenagers (which it did). I know all the GTA games have swearing etc... in, but Rockstar really played it up for the masses with a huge generalisation of black lifestyle. It was predictable and poor story wise, also I played it for hours and didn't play a side mission I'd liked (which was odd, because as I said - loved the other 2 titles).
I did like the ability to go into a bar and hustle for pool etc..

I think the overall best part for me is the knowledge that Rockstar are going to just have to fight back with something completely out of this world.
They don't really need to, but I think they will. I personally can't wait to play it and my friend said it looks amazing, so roll on GTA4.

Also, one little thing that I find is a bit poor is that the main character doesn't speak. It's a bit like taking one step forward with the whole game then two steps back with the character.
It doesn't bother me too much, too many times have I been annoyed at my own characters voice in games. Also, cost wise it would have been silly expensive to record every line 4 times (Black, White, Hispanic, Asian). I would have preferred it if it assumed you said something though. With a voice cast like you have it must have been a consideration and not used for a reason (as mentioned, probably cost).
Saying that, who said it's not just a character trait?
