:D Worth it!

My brother and his mate were mind blown watching me play elite with this and trackIR.

I have to say I am very impressed with the service provided by Overclockers UK on my order for the X-55. I bought two (for a friend and I) and ordered for Gibraltar. A mouse pad also on my order was out of stock so I e-mailed late at night to get it changed to another mouse pad that was in stock. The next morning, my order was changed and shipped. This was yesterday morning. Today the order is with DHL in Gibraltar. Incredible speed, I have to say!
Thank you very much.

Unfortunately since Gibraltar is not in the EU Customs Union, I have to wait for local Customs to clear it and charge me the import duty. They're on summer hours so I have to wait until Monday afternoon and accept that my order is packed and locked up in DHL! :(
Still, perfect timing for Elite Dangerous Premium Beta 2!! My TrackIR 5 is also prepped and ready to go with the X-55. I can't wait!

I bought mine from OCUK and it's been fine! :p:D

TBH, I think the 55 will be OK. Everything else felt pretty solid and smooth, so perhaps they'll just beef up their QA, or something.

Thanks for the info.

Im using a stick purely for Star Citizen (Citizen number 36450 so painfully close to the multiplayer alpha), Its been a strange experience going back to a stick after not using one for so long, the last game I played with a stick was Starlancer. so sitting there in the cockpit of a hornet with the stick in front of me I found myself saying Hello old friend :D all very surreal

Think I'll give the FLY5 another chance for the meantime, I will be an X55 owner at some point, enjoy your new Hotas you lucky people.

ok after some wife pacification I finally got to hook up my x55 just now.

The most notable thing is ITS FREAKY HUGE, im a big guy if you've got small hands then good luck.

Its pretty heavy and doesn't slid around on the desk

its about 500 times better than my old FLY5 which will never be used again.

Its complicated to set up in games but its got about 500 buttons and axis so I was kinda expecting that.

Ive had a quick 1 on E:D and it makes the game feel amazing but I need to get it set up how I want it and tune the deadzones as the stick is very sensitive.

buttons and switches all feel really solid im going to have some fun with this thing playing with setting it up.

i have had no sticking issues, the joystick is slick and moves with equal resistance in all directions.

Interesting you say this, this is the main issue with mine (being RMA'd, also has a missing switch). I find the resistance when you move the joystick radially (in a circle) to be much lower than the resistance when you move it in/out from the center. The result feels weird, and means that you can't really move the joystick from say, 6 o'clock to 3 o'clock in a straight line, and if you try to, it kinda tracks onto the lower resistance radial movement and you end up with a curvy line.

However, this could just be down to my unit with a very tight spring washer (does anyone not have this issue?). Can you comment on this, is it really equal resistance in all directions, or does yours also do the wobbly line when you try to do a straight line from 6 to 3 o'clock?

Seems like a big gamble as to whether you get a good or a bad X-55 at the moment.
