**** sake :(

Who went over the give way without erm giving way.

Simples.

Happened to me last year although I got hit a little harder. Airbags and chassis damage.

I had back to invoice GAP insurance. Well chuffed my 57 plate Civic with 140k got me paid out nearly £13k.

The dumb ass RR driver obviously wasn't looking straight when he was pulling out otherwise he would have seen you coming across.

Complete plonker driver

Geez such a nice car too >:

I would definitely be demanding it goes to a good place for repair. Don't accept some dodgy "approved" repair shop.

The fault seems pretty straight forward, You can't be at fault in a situation like that.

What a pain in the ass. Hopefully the RR driver isnt an idiot and says its his fault.

I certainly wouldn't be going with whatever bodyshop the insurer dictates. There appear to be many instances of insurers getting better deals with their approved garages but through cutting corners on the work.

When I obtained quotes for my non fault accident the garage of my choice scoped to replace all damaged panels and restore the car to its original condition, as opposed to pulling out the dents/creases and using filler.

You are perfectly with your right to choose the garage, obtain a quote and get the range rover drivers insurance to pay for it. Involving your insurance company just results in you losing your excess until it's all resolved and adds complications.

It'll be declared a 50/50, by the time he got home he'll have convinced himself/ lied to the insurers that he was on the line waiting to turn right & you misjudged it and hit him !

Unfortunately I think this will be the case, I just hope I'm wrong!

Well this was my lovely car on Monday 23rd daytime:

Was out for drink in Liverpool with friends and came back to my friend's place to find my bumper torn off and in the middle of the road. Luckily one of his neighbours had seen it and taken down the details of the van.

Logged with police and claiming from the van hire company's insurance but only had the car 4 weeks :(

Don't do it through your own insurer if its a clear non fault!

It might be a clear no-fault to the OP, but that's not how it works. There are very few accidents where the fault driver can't spin the story to make it appear that they aren't. And this is not one of those. I'll lay odds that the other driver (assuming he doesn't own up) will claim the OP cut the corner, and it will end up 50:50.

Even the cut and dry cases seem to be a PITA to go the way they should. My mother in law was driving down a NSL country lane a few years back. Car pulls out of an almost blind driveway right in front of her. That one went from "OMG I'M so sorry" to "Well, I think you had time to stop" by the time the phone call to the insurance company was made.

Many months and many responses of "No, I'll go to court if I have to" to the varying percentages of blame they were trying to attach and it finally was deemed a non fault.

I know they don't catch everything but this is why I run a dash cam in the Punto and will be fitting one to the MX5 when I put it back on the road as well.

I have done mine through Honda Accident Management as my car is under warranty and this doesn't effect my insurance and excess. Ever heard of it or a similar service? I know you aren't a Honda driver but just curious.

As it was a big car that hit you at least its only rear panel damage, if it was a smaller car it might have hit the rear wheel and bent suspension etc. Cup half full 'n' all that...

Fox - you say just to inform your insurers, if i were to have an accident i always thought call your insurers and leave it all to them

What is the process you are suggesting?
