Salon Prive - question

Has anyone here been to Salon Prive at Blenheim during the week, for the actual concours event?
I really would like to go, but not sure if it is a bit ‘posh’ or more laid back than it appears on their website?
Are visitors allowed to take photos?

Mate it's a ****** car show.

Christ I can hear the kinds of conversations in my head already.

"Ah yes but mine has the diamond cut wheels which were an aftermarket option from TunerX back in the day only and they were only offered for one year, it's a pity yours doesn't have them"

The dress code is Formal Garden party attire and should effortlessly blend formal attire with seasonal comfort.

Seriously, it sounds like a nightmare!

While these sorts of events are quite interesting from the car perspective the pomp and pageantry means I would never attend.
 
I got freebie tickets thrown at me a couple of years ago for the Chelsea show.

Upsides were some amazing older (and very scary) racing cars on display that they also started up and had trundling around, as well as a representative bunch of supercars.
The Chelsea Pensioners were also clearly enjoying the occasion.
Most people were dressed smart casual, nothing too fancy.

Downsides were a total lack of respect from a small number of visitors.
Opening the door of a classic racer, climbing inside, wagging the steering wheel and taking a selfie without permission from the owner.
Leaning on the rear spoiler of a McLaren, again to take a selfie.
Trying to open the doors / bonnet / boot of one of the supercars without permission ... etc.
They put out an announcement over the tannoy to ask people not to do that and a couple of hours later it was still happening.

Overall it was a fun day out, but I only had to pay for the train fare and a couple of drinks.
I'm not sure I would actually pay to go again.

Thank you for the various perspectives on the event. Probably going to be like I imagined but as noted above an opportunity to see some rare and unusual cars, which is what I want. Not something I am going to every year either.
I can probably keep my head down, smile, and keep out of the pomp. I’ve even got a three piece suit I could wear. Lol
Better get a straw boater though….

It can be as posh or as common as you want it to be. It's a good day out, go for it.

I do love that after the dress code, "think Garden Party at Buckingham Palace" and hundred odd photo style guide the official merchandise for Salon Price consists of... t-shirts, hoodies and baseball caps :cry:

I went the Chelsea one, is was decent, no chavs is always a benefit. Good poke round the Koenigseggs etc on the parade section.

They recognise better selling merch people will actually wear day to day.... I don't think tweed waistcoats would have much of a draw.
 
Oh I dunno. I'd love to wear a Salon Prive waistcoat and flat cap at the next Festival of the Unexceptional.

A cunning and very successful ploy by the organisers to get the Made In Chelsea and TOWIE crowds to pay way over the odds for anything if it sounds exclusive.

It’s been working for decades, just look at the low-end sheds that BMW and Audi have put an M or R badge on for example.
