I purchased a new Samsung 1.5TB F2, but am having problems with the drive.
I already own one of these drives, and it's worked perfectly on my P55 board, so can't see it being driver or other hardware.
After installing, I partitioned the drive using Computer Management XP64, and formatted to NTFS. This failed to format, and Healthy (at risk) message was placed beside the drive. I eventually managed to format the drive using normal format command.
I am using Intel Rapid Storage technology, and a warning was placed for new drive. I also checked using SpeedTest, and following is reported from the SMART status.
Raw Read Error Rate Value 21 Worst 15 Warn 51, status is saying read failure.
I am also getting a warning in CrystalDiskInfo.
I copied some files to the drive, and reading back OS returned read errors.
Is it safe to presume the drive is faulty? As mentioned I have another identical drive (12 months old), and that works perfectly.
