new build looming and i have purchased the above for fresh install,
current os is on 2x256 840s in raid 0 my plan is to do fresh install on the 850 1tb then can i plug in 2x256 raid and drag and drop anything i need before doing ssd secure erase.??

yes if you first set to raid,and don't include the 850 in the array

remember to delete the raid array on the 2x840 drives after you've dragged everything across,then set sata ports to ahci if raid is no longer needed
 
thanks for reply can you clarify what you said do i install os to new 1st then connect old raid set up and drag what i need then erase. ? unsure what you mean by first set to raid ?
 
you'll need raid mode for the raid drives later?

so you'll have to set to raid first then install windows then add in the raid drives (this is only theory)ive never had to do this but should work

ahci/raid is similar in drivers so it should let you change back to ahci later without any trouble

thanks for help ive thought of an alternative would it be better to drag off my games etc to my 2tb hdd, to then add back to new 850 then i can remove hdd as it will be redundant as i will still have the 2 840s 256s and 1 256 intel cherryville ,
if i go this route do i just drag whole steam folder over and likewise uplay folder etc to hdd.
