Hi,

I've just taken delivery of a Samsung 206BW, which has a brightly coloured pixel (shines red) very near to the center of the screen. The positioning of faulty pixel is very annoying. Against lighter backrounds, the faulty pixel seems to 'fade' a little, but is still visible. Against darker backrounds, the faulty pixel stands out very clearly and obviously, and causes significant disturbance to my enjoyment of images.

I contacted Samsung, who basically said that they did not want to know. They do not consider the position of a faulty pixel to be an issue (when I'd have thought it surely is), and they do not consider a single faulty pixel sufficient for a replacement.

I'd be very grateful for any help and advice in regard to how to fix the faulty pixel; might try to reactivate it?

Thanks for all help.

Well further looking at this pixel and doing some tests:

If I turn the screen white, the pixel seems to do that too.

If I turn the screen yellow, the pixel seems to do that too.

Problems arise when the screen goes green, blue and black: Here the pixel remains red and stick out like a sore thumb.

So I'm guessing the pixel is stuck, and not dead.

Can pixels be 'unstuck'?
