My monitor was flickering. I went to badcaps forums and found the solution and had a good youtube tutorial to follow. I already had soldering experience, however I think the tip was too small ( I bought it for DIL 8-pin IC repair).
The monitor often goes bad due to low quality caps used in manufacture.
