samsung 26 inch r74 - problem

Hi there, got this monitor few weeks agom use it on my 360, but want to use it on my PC aswell.

I have a vga cable and it doesnt seem to display the pc.

When i change extensions i cant select the PC extension through the menu. The PC seems to detect the resolution and goes into 1368 by 720 or somthing when i plug it back into my normal crt, but why wont it display ;/

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Btw i dont get any start up dos display either....

Slight OT but i'm considering one of these as well.
How have you found it? good quality? would you buy it again? Good for xbox360 etc?

I have my pc hooked up to my le32r73 at the mo its great dont get the flickering you seem to have experienced, just set your desktop to 1360x768 on your crt then you should be good to go with the samsung. Use the Source button on the remote it should go ext.1, ext.2, Av and then PC. If this is what your already doing im not sure what the problem is, this thread maybe able to help you http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323530. Really like watching HD on this set, and games are excelent, movie mode really helps

I had heard about that flickering too. apparently if you go through the engineer menu (some key combination u can find on another forum) then you can switch the on the fly alterations off. Bit like switching that rotten Advanced DV mode on my NEC monitor off!

Gonna get one of the sammys anyway so will let you know my findings

Hmm when I purchased my r71 I just plugged the vga cable into the back of the TV pressed the pc button on the remote and turned the pc on, the monitor auto adjusted and it worked.

bought a dvi to hd cable, it works but man think i need some drivers or somthing, using latest nvidia dets the text and stuff isnt clear and windows looks bit messy

I have the same problem running a samsung 26 hdtv with ATI x800xtpe latest cat drivers, screen is all fuzzy and text is unreadable, using hdmi - dvi to connect the video.

wish I knew what to do I have no idea, been searching forums and playing around for ever. samsung basically told me to try the res that i'm currently using, ATI have not been much help, There must be someone out there who knows....

I have the 26" R74 with the xBox360 connected via Microsoft VGA cable and the picture is excellent. Make sure you put Game Mode on when using the PC connection. You have to run at 1360 x 768 @ 60Hz and is rock solid picture, with Game Mode turned on.

Samsungs are funny with the HDMI connector and PC's. Hooking up via VGA works fine.

Only issue I have had so far was got some stuck pixels after about 16 hours solid use. After switching off and then back on in the morning then they have disappeared and the TV has been fine since.

Also vga to hdmi connection is really crap, ive used powerstrip and its still **** unless its at 800 by 600 which is useless. Anyone who has this screen rec any software or drivers which would sort this
