Hi Folks

Please can you assist with this query

Samsung 3TB D3 Station External Hard Drive
Windows 8.1
Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP
USB 3

Issue:

When the drive is copying files (using robocopy) the copy bombs out with the following error for each remaining file. 'ERROR 2 (0x00000002) Creating Destination Directory'

When this occurs the drive still shows in windows explorer and you can browse its contents, however at this stage it is not possible to create folders or write files. For example when I try to create a folder in explorer the error 'Could not fund this item this is no longer located on in this PC'

The only way to get write access back to the drive is to unplug and reconnect it.

I have:

Upgraded the motherboards BIOS and Chipset drivers to the latest versions (BIOS F6 and chipset driver 10.0.13)

I have deleted the drives default partition and converted the drive GPT and formatted with NTFS

Event logs when the copy bombs:

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR6 during a paging operation.

The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId: F:, DeviceName: \Device\HarddiskVolume11.
(This device does not exist.)

A corruption was discovered in the file system structure on volume F:.
The exact nature of the corruption is unknown. The file system structures need to be scanned online.
