samsung 500gb help please

Hi there i recently just got a samsung 500gb sata hdd, the problem is when i installed windows it only reconises 127gb of it, in a partion or something.

How do i get it to reconise the rest? i dont want a partion or anything.

Problem is your copy of XP is the initial release which only recognises partitions up to 127Gb, you need SP1 or SP2 slipstreamed onto the install CD to recognise bigger partitions. Basically you've got 3 options to solve this:

1) Leave it as is and create a D: partition with the remaining space, this is the easiest and safest option but if you'd rather have just a big C: then...

2) Use the diskpart command line utility to extend the existing partition

3) Use Partition Magic to do the same, I think the downloadable trial will let you do this.
