Hey peeps,
I installed my new ssd yesterday and im having some problems installing a fresh windows installation on it.

first I got error "windows cannot be installed to this disk" then after some browsing it suggested using the dvd drive instead of the uefi dvd drive so I have that and not the error I get is
"setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition"
I have tried to create partitions and still get the same issue can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

Latest BIOS for your board? Did you format it when windows install prompts you? Should be straightforward

check the sata cable, I had the same issue with the same drive.

had so many issues trying to get the drive to format and when it did it then failed to install windows on to the drive.

I changed the sata cable and port and then had no issues after that

mine was a install from a USB stick

It's a bios problem. Go to bios and boot option then boot order and move the ssd to top of list then save and reboot with install disk and setup starts you will able to select the ssd and it will install.
