Hey guys just purchased a samsung 840 evo 500gb ssd and installed the cables correctly and it's not showing in my computer.

I go into my bios and it's showing up there but not showing in my computer :/

Any help please?

have you initialized the drive and assigned letter?

Done nothing no,I don't know where to find it.

It says in my BIOS Sata configuration i clicked on that and it said Samsung SSD 840 evo 500gb and it's disabled,But when i enable it still does nothing.

My Mobo is the Rampage IV gene if this helps.

Right click Computer/Manage/Storage/Disk Management.

Right click on the drive, initialise and assign a new drive letter.

In Windows 8 there's a disk management tab in any of the folders at the top.

I'm using windows 8.1 and it's not showing in Disk management,It's only showing my C drive (Samsung 830 ssd) and D drive (Segate 2tb hdd)

when you're in the disk management, just hit PRTSCR button on your keyboard (to the right from F12)

open up MS Paint and do Ctrl + V (just paste it)
save to desktop (or somewhere easy to find)

go to www.imgur.com and hit "Computer" button on top right. select image, hit Upload
there will be several links created, post one of them here.

It's not one of the listed volumes in the top half of the screen shot.

Did you connect the power cable?

if windows 8 just look in any folder at the top/computer/manage then disk management

then click on ssd and assign new drive letter or initialise it,it'll showup in windows then

the above screens are correct

EDIT: if its not showing in windows/disk management then idk?? (maybe enabling hotswap for the port its on might help?)
