Is there any difference in reliability between these two models.
I just had another SATA HD die on me, so looking for a long term reliable SSD.

In fact is there much difference between the two SSD apart from price.

Main difference is the type of NAND used the Pro has 3bit MLC the Evo TLC.

The average life expectancy of both will be so similar that it will be random chance which lasts longer.

^Few people will ever get anywhere close to the write limit, I've had my 830 for about a year and a half and it reports only 6.5Tb has been written to it, so I wouldn't worry too much about the life expectancy :)

I've still got a first gen OCZ SSD in my Linux machine. First one died after 6 months but the replacement has been going for years, even though it's using one of the unreliable sandforce controllers :)

I got 2x 120gb Samsung Evo basics for about £120 a few months ago and they are both still going strong; used quite heavily for gaming etc. Best ones i've used tbh.
