Hi all just been on Samsungs website and put in the model number for my new laptop and i'm informed that the drive is not compatible with my machine.
I have an HP Envy dv6-7227sa with the following specs
Microprocessor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-3630QM,
Chipset Intel HM77 Express,
Memory 6 GB DDR3,
Video Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M 2GB
Hard Drive 500 GB SATA (5400 rpm)
Is this correct as id like to take advantage of some ssd goodness:confused:
was thinking about getting the 256gb version for now then upgrading again to the 512 one when i get my bonus next year.
Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi
This doesn't sound correct to me, although I am not familiar with your laptop so can't be certain.
I did a compatibilty check at Crucial UK and it seems that a Crucial M4 is compatible with a "dv6-7227-nr". Although they don't list your exact model.
If your laptop is compatible with 2.5" SATA disk's and the BIOS is configurable for AHCI then you should not have any problems, but I suggest you ask the question in the customer support section. They are really helpful.

It will work - they just haven't updated the site to avoid the risk of it not working (Like a 1 in a million chance).

Thanks for the replies, in hwinfo 32 it says sata 3 so i reckon it will work wish me luck as it will be the first thing i do when i get home from work :)

Ok then................. Good Luck :)
But I don't think you need it and it is a fantastic upgrade especially on a laptop as they really seem to benefit the most.
