Samsung 840 SSD and just run the magician software and the random write (iops) is about half what it should be, see attached pic.

I have the latest firmware, optimized system for performance and im running in AHCI mode with windows 7 X64.

System specs in sig, searching to see what the cause may be..

install latest intel rapid storage drivers

creating some overprovisioning will help boost the iops (aslong as you can spare 10-20gb of space)

hey m8 i got the 250gb version last week and i had same sorta readings at 1st..i know you loose about 20-25gb when you use (over provisioning) but i did that and then changed my (OS Optimization) to (Max Reliability) then turned (Rapid Mode) on and finally did the (performance optimization) . then my scores ended up like this.....

Latest drivers are installed, and i have had the drive a little while and im sure the results on an older system was not low like they are now and i wasnt overprovisioning then? plus i only have 32.7gb spare.

Don't know if it's still true but isn't ATTO best (more accurate) for ssd benches?

will try it as well.

cant use rapid mode on mine as its not a pro or evo just the 840. I can try reliability instead of performance, and i have os optiomized.

Will try a few things and see what happens, thanks for the input so far, so its not likely a fault then?

Ok went through this link to see if I missed something and some of these I hadnt done and now my iops is good again. For some reason windows system recovery was on which I am sure I disabled as its the first thing I normally do lol.

anyways results speak for them selves and not had to provision the drive.

thought the write speeds looked a bit low?
The iops is the main concern really, just cant understand why its so low.

No idea if they're a good reviewer, but....
benchies
Seem to be saying that your write speeds should be approximately the level you saw. Unless the reviewers have made a mistake too of course!

With the iops bit sorted now are you seeing different performance figures in crystal mark? I'm curious now :)

As promised results with iops more normal and crystal mark scores.

glad to see you got it sorted m8 ;) ... i did have my drive set to max performance at 1st but for some reason my benchmarks went downhill :/ ...

but if u ever do decide to get a new SSD i really do recommend the evo..
these are my current scores atm... i also tried out ATTO Not sure whats what on the program tho lol

Enabling rapid mode is like sticking a "Turbo" badge on the back of a 1.0L Nissan Micra.

Actually, it's more like testing the 0-60 time of a 1.0L Nissan Micra on a 1 in 3 hill (from top to bottom).
