I've been looking for a new ssd, and people keep recommending the Samsung 840 series, then when i was looking in to it more i found there is the 840 and the 840 pro. Does any one know the difference and also why the 840's come in 60gb, 120gb ect. and the 840 pro come in 64gb, 128gb ect? Thanks

They use different memory types (TLC NANDs, and MLC Toggle NANDs). As for the size, must be the way the memory modules are setup.

Go with with the 830, the 840 pro, or the Plextor M5 pro.

ah right okay, thanks!

hmm i haven't looked at the plextor m5 pro before, but looking at it now it looks good, i think im going to go with the 840 pro as its black and i needs to be in keeping with the computers aesthetic. Thanks

Go for the 840 Pro or 830 as said above. The 840's are absolutely crap and have crap write and read speeds, which are even worse than there predecessors and cost more.

Get a 840 Pro, you won't regret it.
