Samsung 850 Pro low random writes?

I've just installed a Samsung 850pro 1tb to replace my old 840 evo as my main drive, but the random writes are looking a little low to me?

I used the magician transfer to transfer my windows installation, then set the evo to be my data drive (replacing an ancient 600gb velociraptor). The SSD appears to be aligned properly and it's connected to the native intel Z87 Sata6G. Using the latest Intel RST drivers with Win7 64.

Changing cables/ port doesn't seem to have made any difference and the old 840 evo is still performing as well as it ever did. Any ideas/ suggestions? Thanks in advance.

As I'm too lazy to reinstall Windows, I decided to use a Windows system image I'd made prior to installing the new SSD.

Works fine on the new SSD, all I had to do was expand the partition to accommodate the increased disk space. Random writes are exactly where they're advertised to be now, so there must have been some sort of hiccup with the Samsung migration software, despite it reporting as properly aligned.

When I used the Samsung software AS SSD showed the partition wasn't aligned properly, using Macrimum reflect to clone the drive gave me correct performance.
