Makings a AM4 build. Which of these drives is the best and why?

Samsung 980 1 TB PCIe 3.0 or Samsung 970 evo plus 1tb pcie 3.0

dont think i can use a 4.0 one with the mobo i am getting and i am on a budget.

looking for one around £50 - £60 Max

holding out for Black friday drop as well. so some options of good drives would be good

PCie 3.0 but also 4.0 if they are indeed backward compatible.

May now go for the Samsung 990 Pro 1TB if its a good price on BF. least then if i upgrade at any point or replace in future on this PC or another it would be quicker.
