Have had this monitor just 4 weeks(from oc)and 2 weeks ago I noticed a small faint yellowish bloom towards the bottom right of screen...in the last 2 weeks it has now grown from small to about 4 inches in height and 6 inches in width along bottom of screen. There is nothing around monitor...ie speakers, phones etc that would cause this so was wondering if anyone else has had same issue with this monitor?

Have tried taking it to samsung approved repair centre but they will not entertain me as the warranty card was not stamped and dated by the retailer I got it off...which is hard to do when in a sealed box and couriered to customers from online orders.

Have asked about RMAing it but told all of the warranty for Samsung monitors is held direct with samsung.

Despite your hatred of cats (I have one) I will attempt to help you.

Legally that can't be correct.

Your contract is with the retailer.

Have a read:

If you want to deal with Samsung directly (it may be easier) then register your monitor online and then report the fault.

According to this page Samsung will do a pick up and swap:

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/warranty/warrantyInformation.do?page=POLICY.WARRANTY

A few years ago I had a faulty Samsung monitor. They brought me new one and took the old one away at the same time.

thanks... already done that last week but not had a reply off them still...forgot to tell OCuk that...doh
Dont know why OCuk can't RMA it though:confused:

Well if you do RMA it to OcUK chances are you'll have to wait while they send the monitor to Samsung and then for Samsung to send a replacement.

If you deal with Samsung they should do a direct swap.

ok cool , only problem being there would be what would have if there is dead pixels on the new screen this always worries me

I assume you're swapping it because it has a fault which must be worse than the chance of dead pixels.

It's the chance you take I suppose.

Well after 2hrs on phone today and countless emails, samsung wont honour there warranty, said they wont pick monitor up and I'll have to ship it to them at my cost and no replacement in the meantime(even though there own website states 36 months pick up/swap warranty)...and there in dispute of this monitors model number and serial number as not being a Samsung product ???

Been in touch with OCuk and has been confirmed that my agreement started 11/4/11 when goods shipped so I should still be covered under 28 day warranty, was asked to post pictures of problem elsewhere in forum once i got in from work....just one problem...can't add pictures so they cannot see my issue.

Any help??

yeah realised after i typed that...to upload pics...doh(was having a blonde moment) Have done so now but its has put pics to HUUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE...lol even tho I resized them before uploading.

If you use imageshack you can use the "Image resize:" drop-down menu to change the picture to a much more manageable size. (I reckon the 1280x1024 option is a good one as it is still pretty big, but will fit on a standard screen without needing to zoom).

said its been sent to manufacturer but after 4 phone calls to sort out and 3 faxes with regards to my shipping costs at shops request...I've been told "we'll look into it" and nothing since

Not wanting to sound negative as I've spent a small fortune over the years at shop, but a reassuring phone call to your customers queries would'nt be too much to ask would it?
