I'd pretty much given up any hope of this screen seeing any more updates and fixes (and they were needed) but after randomly checking I noticed new versions have recently been released! (04-03-2021)

Samsung C27HG70 (1025) https://www.samsung.com/sec/support/model/LC27HG70QQKXKR/
Samsung C32HG70 (1024) https://www.samsung.com/sec/support/model/LC32HG70QQKXKR/

I've no idea what any of the changed are supposed to be, but i have noticed that the HDR function seems to work much better on my 27" screen after updating from 1020. Windows 10 HDR function now gives me a white mouse pointer instead of a grey one and hdr demo video looks to have more brightness to it although with what looks like blooming for a few moments in some things (I guess due to limited zones).

Flickering seems to be a lot less in the freesync ultimate mode which I usually got running emus on the desktop. Still no overdrive adjustment options though so I still get like a purple outline/blur in fast moving games.

EDIT: I've checked the monitor with a Nvidia 1050ti and can say that that the drivers detected and enabled G-Sync Compatibility mode with both the screens Standard and Ultimate engine modes. The screen does still only show the Freesync logo in its menu though. Also, G-Sync is only working on display port as the options were not presented on Hdmi. In HDR mode the desktop looks a lot more washed out than on my Radeon card even though I have set 10bit full range in the display settings. I have no idea what the actual sync range is as the nvidia drivers don't seem to give much info in that regard.

EDIT: version 1025 has been made available for the 27". Wonder why the 32" model seems to be getting left behind though.
