I am currently having a issue with a 8 month old Samsung evo 250GB SSD.

I have had no issues with it at all till recently.

the issue is that randomly the SSD will loose its connection and my PC will freeze and then have to be reset by the button n the front.

when it restarts the PC hangs when it boots up to detect the SSD and doesn't find it. its currently used as a steam drive for games.

so far I have done the following

- changed Sata cable
- changed sata ports (using sata 2)
- latest firmware on the SSD
- Restoration tool ran and secure erase done
- using same power cable as my OS SSD so not changed this
- bios updated
- cleared CMOS and removed OC

I cant think of anything else apart from the SSD being faulty, does anyone else have any other ideas?

running windows 10 9926 build as well with a Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard

the only way to get it working again is to power off the PC and re seat the sata cable and then its ok for a unknown amount of time before it happens again

is it worth doing a RMA and get it replaced?

only thing in event viewer is this under system

The Update Orchestrator Service service terminated with the following error:
The operation attempted is not supported.

get this most of the time even when the ssd is fine

this appears under applications

Activation of application Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App failed with error: The app manager is required to activate applications, but is not running. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.

could it be a OS issue or do you think its a hardware issue?

was fine when I was running windows 7, been running windows 10 since the 1st of Feb
