Looks good but i have to say the bezel is a bit thikcer than i would have imagined, especially considering it was meant to be "omgfapfapfap" thin. I can see the 6 panel version causing issues on shooters, the crosshair would most likely get lost in that setup.

3 panel version here

I really don't get why they havn't experimented with tranparant bezels, id imagine putting the screen out to the edge then puting a transparant bezel over it would answer most complaints of the bezels still being there? Or is there some unwritten law that says bezels must be opaque and the screen can't be directly underneath?

Prices appear to be $1899 for 3 and $3099 for 6.

I think it's got something to do with the panels being housed in an enclosure that has to be larger than the panel itself as it holds the backlight and so on.

I've taken the bezel off my 2408s and there's basically a metal enclosure around the panel's edges. The bezel is about 40-50% wider than this metal frame, so I can see there being scope to reduce it a little, but not make it completely bezel free.

Plus, the metal frame around the panel was actually extremely hot, I'd imagine the plastic bezel also acts as some sort of insulator.

Id imagine theres some way around it, theyre really just rushing these out with a slight adjustment to the bezel and a new stand. Be interesting to see how much the 3 monitor setup ends up costing in the uk, id imagine $1899 will somehow magically become £2000 knowing the way things go. :(

(insert usual supply and demand, pound to the dollar and any other bs reason here)

Providing they don't use the dell method, you're looking at £1200~ +VAT for the 3 screen one.

Their value of course is very dependant on the type of monitor they are, as in, the panel types they use.

From the look of them they're 24" screens, though not 100% sure. What I find weird is that the next gen of 5XXX cards will be able to power all 6 screens!

I like the 3 screen version, but not so much 6 panels, as in fps's the crosshair would probably be lost and any action in the centre of the screen would be lost.

Having the 3 panels gives you the centre of the action as you see it with nice extra's round the edges, perfect!

I've seen "normal" monitors with thinner bezels than that... I don't think theres any reason for thicker bezels other than its a bit more costly to manufacture... if you take the panel out of some laptops they are literally 0.5mm borders on the edge.

I'd rather 3 of these. 8.5mm bezel :)

Isn't it like complaining that your existing single monitor has a bezel?
Here's how I now see it;

It's not like we are watching video footage on a bigger screen with two annoying lines dividing it up, we are manipulating what we see via the game, largely looking through the center monitor for confirmation of our actions.
The outer screens fill our peripheral vision.

At first I bawked at the idea of bezels, I am a perfectionist by nature and stood stead fast against them. But from thinking and reading about it more i'm sure our brains compensate.
Thinner they get the better though:)

And one day, we will look back and laugh at this sure to be compromise we made for higher res gaming

Blimey thats a bit brave!

So these monitors sort of click into place? Instead of having || on each monitor it just goes | (using bar as an example. :p)
