at home, you?
any good? been offered one in a swap for my blackberry curve 9300 3g, only issue is the front of the note is cracked, seen a guide on the net about replacing it, and looks simple enough to do (iv done iphones and other stuff before) but just wanting to know what theyre like to use everyday?

there's a huge thread on the note mate, it may help

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18313220

i use mine daily and after the initial shock of the size and the fellow apple fan boys laughing at you its a pretty awesome phone

once you get used to the screen size i think its very hard to go back to smaller size screen phone!

This.

My wife bought me mine for my birthday. I was worried about the size initially but after running it side by side for a couple of weeks with my galaxy s2 I realised it wasn't a problem and sold my s2.

It is only fair to say that I believe the s2 at the moment is a faster phone due to the lack of s pen functionality and smaller screen. After looking at different benchmarks I reckon the subsequent updates to the OS will address this.

with regards to changing the touch screen..its a little difficult to separate the touchscreen from the lcd and requires you heating it (ive used a hairdryer) just enough until the adhesive softens. You can buy the part all in one piece however it will cost you over £100

yeh iv seen it for around that, been looking at just replacing the glass and they are a tenner on the bay, been trying to find a complete guide, as im not sure what the touchscreen is attached to, is it the broken glass or the screen behind?

Capacitive touch screens are made of many layers,

Overlay (Gorilla Glass or similar)
First set of electrodes (y axis)
Adhesive
Second set of electrodes (x axis)
Back panel
Shield

If it's got Gorilla Glass (which I think it has) it makes it all the more impressive that it cracked... then that's the piece you need to change... However, you don't know how deep the crack is and it may well have cracked all the way through the touch sensing layers too.
