Samsung Galaxy S24 Family Thread

I really like the 5x optical lens, it's actually very versatile and the quality of the resolution is very high I'm finding. Also natural optical depth of field is creatively useable

Oh and 5G speeds for me have been on par with the S23U Exynos, very good but ultimately depends on area and I leave it in 4G anyway which is still hundreds of Mbps so not far off.

I'm in Chelmsford right now:

Is anyone in the Samsung upgrade programme? Worth it? I am still thinking about an S24 Ultra and whether to pay cash or go into the upgrade programme.
I've bought the last 3 Ultras outright but I've used the upgrade program in the past and it's been fine, I think there is also an option to pay over 24 months (or there used to be)

Thanks. My S21U is in the repair shop so I'm hoping to use it as trade in, but in the event that the repairer comes back and says it's not possible but I've already added it to trade it, presumably I can just speak to Samsung and they can adjust the price?

The upgrade programme works well, but you do need to be mindful on when you do it. I got a bad deal because I was given £170 for my S20U, but I later saw people on this forum get given higher amounts like £250, so I timed it badly.

The new Samsung ships via DPD and you have a 2-week window to return your old phone. The clock starts when DPD's tracking shows that the new handset has been delivered, as opposed to the invoice date or shipping date, so that's quite good. Samsung Smart Switch transfers everything from your old phone to your new phone - photos, other files, contacts, apps, settings, and even some of your logins.

Warning - I fell foul on the authenticators, Google, Microsoft etc. I thought that all of the codes would transfer over, but only the Microsoft ones copied across ok. So it was too late when I realised I lost my OcUK code. See the yellow warning bit on the top of most forum pages). I contacted a mod, got a bit of a telling off :p confirmed a few security questions then had my login reset. Then you need to create some backup codes for OcUK and note them down somewhere.
