Samsung Galaxy S24 Family Thread

Picked up S23U last year, will skip this gen as it doesn't offer ground breaking stuff to even notice the difference (for what i use)
Would be interesting to see how far AI tech will take S24U not just optimizing photos but whatever else that might be
Almost pulled a trigger and traded in but extra £600 didn't seem like a good investment for a very minor upgrade

The trade-in cost me £250 after I sold the watch. It make sense to me because the s24u will (likely) give maximum trade-in for the s25 which is where we likely see more radical changes.

Those of you using Nova launcher - I have tried to change an individual icon say X to another style of icon but I get a permission denied when I chose from an installed icon pack. This appears to be an Android 14 problem as my Pixel 8 pro also does this.

All permissions are allowed with Nova & the Icon pack. I use Cleandriod icon pack. i have restarted Nova & my device.

I could change individual Icons on the S23 Ultra with Nova 7.

Can you have a go & see if you can change an Icon to one from an installed Icon pack

Anyone experiencing Bluetooth connection issues to their car? Trying to connect to a W205 C class and whilst the phone is saying its connected to phone and audio, the car does not seem to realise that music is trying to be played. Spotify also goes into car mode.

Havent had this issue with any previous Android or iOS phone.

No rumours on when the next update will drop?
Just the usual guesswork by the YouTubers - very soon, maybe this month, blah, blah, blah. I would love an update, but at the same time I would prefer they took their time and delivered something more worthwhile, rather than rush a release.
Although it still begs the question, why release so soon, rather than iron out these issues first!? Could you imagine buying a car and finding out it doesn't reverse, because their QA team didn't test it!

Soon.

To be fair, there has been a lot worse phone releases in the past.

Also they didn't force people to buy it. Nothing stopping you wait for them to iron out the issues first.

Very true, however that doesn't give them an excuse not to learn from previous releases. I'm fully aware that Samsung do this every release and correct, I could have held off, but then again I wouldn't have purchased it at full price. I guess this is the trade off for biting the bullet early and taking their release date offers.

The update is great news for those who are affected by screen issues. I wouldn't mind being able to change the vivid settings a little bit but thankfully I have no problem with the screen on my phone, it's amazing! I do love to tinker though and I'll not be able to help myself when we get the update :D
Doesn't mention anything about it's apparent shortcomings ref taking photos of moving objects - be interesting if it's fixed without it being acknowledged as an issue.
