Hey, just wondering as the memory guru if you could give me idea of ram timings and speed on the new platform.

The ram is stable at least up to 2100 MHz cl9 (which is what I had it at on the x58). But the old 920 wasn't happy with it.

I've heard a lot about the new ram having newer version three XMP profiles. I'm sure the green doesn't. So what would your advice be on getting the most out of it on the new platform be? I'm fairly ok with main timings etc, but I'm going in a bit blind on the 1150 setup!

I have also heard reports of the memory speed being limited by the CPU overclock, but then some have got 4.9 with 2400 MHz ram. Is this your experience?

Much appreciated!
J

nowhere near getting the ram stable at those timings :(

running @ 4.75 (44 cache) - 1.357v

memory @ 1.65v seems to be unstable at 2222+ cl10/12/12/21 with 1.3 v ring.

any ideas on what to bump for a shot at 2400?

Ok at the moment have 2222mhz, with 1.6v 1.268 cache and auto sa ioa ios

9/11/11/26 1t
Then, 7 108 7936 25 7 26 5 8
6 6 6 24 5 5 4 7 7 26 14 9 9 9 2 2

All seconds and thirds auto except for 108 which was 147 on auto.

Oh ok, just got back from work and am trying to get 2222 stable. Regarding primary timings, do you think 9 10 10 26 would work?

ok timings as they stand:

2222mhz
9/10/10/26/1

5/108/7936/21/4/26/5/8

6/6/6/24/5/5/4/7/7/22/14/9/9/9/2/2

as your 2400 thirds were tighter im going to try them. i couldnt get twcl any lower than 8 with those timings or no boot.

just tried some tweaking. (lots of restarts!)

this is at 1.6v with around 1-1.15 v on the voltages you mentioned.

here are the current timings. im not sure if some are too high and some too low, affecting some other ones etc. if you could take a look id much appreciate it, cheers!

Ok thanks a lot.

Have got the timings to, 9/10/10/21. 5/108/7936/12/4/26/4/5/7. 5/6/6/20/5/5/4/7/7. 10/10/10

At 1.6v

No luck getting lower than 7 on the last second or any lower on the first three thirds. Although the first third going down one got around 2000mb/s read speed increase which was amazing hehe.

Also the second and third primaries made no difference whether at ten or eleven to the ability to lower those other ones you mentioned so I left them at ten in the end.

Speed wise, it's benching at 27800 read 35000 write 30800 copy and 41 latency in Aida 64 latest version. How does that look? Anything glaring? Cheers!

ok will do. what i have done in the interim though is put my bclk down from 101.5 to 101.1 and this seems to have stabilised things so far..

Having some strangeness going on here. At anything other than the base cpu strap, such as 125. I can't get the timings lists above to work, even at 2000 MHz. But at 100 base clock with 100 strap it works fine.

The frequency of the memory stays the same, the only change is the strap, should that cause this?

Cheers

ok, now im trying to get this sorted at 2400.

booted at @1.6v 2400 10/12/12/26/1t

auto timings for the rest are:

7 154 7936 ?* 7 26 ?* 6 9

4 6 6 24 6 6 4 8 8

10 10 10

the performance is very nice in aida64 @ ~36000 read ~37500 write ~35700 copy 42.1ns

any tips again? thanks in advance bud :)

*it doesnt show what the auto setting for tWR / tWTR is

ok after a lot of messing around, this is where im at:

1.6v

xsh1.jpg

sameish speeds as in above post.

are there any timings which look way off? i cant lower the main ones you mentioned before.

it does boot at CL 9 but it wasnt stable.

i was able to boot and use windows at 2600 cl 11 but it stopped workers in p95 pretty much instantly. im sure i could have got something working at that speed but oh well.

samung green really do kick ass!
