Hi all,

I have a Faulty Samsung 750gb Drive and want to get it fixed/replaced, I am sure it is within it's 3 years warranty but not sure what to do now, Shall i contact the original company i purchased it from or shall i go straight to samsung?

Many thanks

I sent mine back to Rexo when it went faulty a week ago: http://www.rexo.co.uk/warranty.php I believe they do all the RMA's for Samsung HDD's in the UK. I sent mine off on Wednesday of last week and got a brand new one back this Monday, so about a 4 working day turnaround time.

Rexo as mentioned above, don't bother with the retailer even if you've had it under a year. Rexo will get you a new drive back in a couple of days, retailer could take ages.

O.k. cool, I now have an RMA number and am ready to send Hard disk drive, Only issue is i cannot get into contact with rexo, the telephone numbers do not work, Anyone know if they have gone into administration or anything?

I am a bit worried about sending the drive to a company i cannot talk to, Also it is stated that the postage is already paid for the item, is this true or do i need to send it Royal mail recorded.

They don't make it easy.

All I did was:
1. Put the HDD in an anti-static bag.

2. Put the HDD into the original plastic box (not strictly needed) that it came in and wrap it in some bubble wrap.

3. Put the HDD in its plastic box, wrapped in bubble wrap, into a jiffy bag, including the sheet that you print off that has the RMA details on it and another piece of paper with the RMA number on (probably won't need to do that but I like to make sure). Remember to write the RMA number on the outside of the jiffy bag.

4. Send to this address using Royal Mail Special Delivery:
7 Fitzroy House
Lynwood Drive
Worcester Park
Surrey
KT4 7AT
United Kingdom

I didn't see any mention of postage being paid to send the HDD to them but obviously you don't need to pay for the return postage. They send it back via UPS.

Ah ok, So did you just take it to the post office and give it to them or just pop it into a post box?

They have a very quick return

had to use them in the past did not know you can ask for one sending first i had to move what i could on to my other disk and deleting what was left :-(

Thanks for the replies, Do you think i should just send it to them then? even though any contact number i can find for them does not work, the one provided on the RMA sheet just rings and then won't let you leave a message as the voice mail is full.

Then again if it goes missing i should have some comeback from Samsung as it was them who provided the RMA numbers and Address to send the faulty drive.

I read in another thread rexo are no longer in use.

All RMA's are to be done through Samsung HDD. See here.
To start the RMA again, click here.

This is what i have done and It gave me the info for Rexo, Maybe i will see if i can contact someone at Samsung as i am not happy with sending the drive to a company i am unable to contact, It almost seems as if they do not exist anymore?

I recieved a drive from Rexo just last week so unless they've folded since then it should be all okay.

I guess Samsung just moved the RMA creation system to their site, which would have made it more professional if it wasn't all in Engrish. I notice it asks you silly questions about the OS you're using and such as well. *Sigh* Well so long as the actual RMA handling doesn't change.

most computer parts are like 29 days or 14 days RTB, after that its norm 1-3 year warranty with the company part with there RMA service that they norm have on-line most of the time or email request
