Samsung KS7000 or Sony Product Details Sony Bravia KD55XD8005

If anyone has an issue with the widely spread feet like I did then invest in a TV stand. They're not that expensive. I bought one of these for my 55KS7000 and it's great.

Though I do think it's an unnecessary expense as there's no reason for the feet to be where they are - a central pedestal would've been much easier to deal with.

Not the best of pics but you get the idea. You can see the black glass base sitting on top of the black glass unit top. The stand is ideal for me as I can fit my centre speaker directly under the TV too.

EDIT: hmmmm... can't get the pic to display!

Thanks, just noticed it's £70. They also do one for £40 which is the one I've come across before, and it should do the job for the 49" version.

I think the price has gone up as I don't recall paying £70 for mine. I went for the bigger version just in case...

Just for the record, the pic above was taken just after initial installation. It's much tidier now I've put the cables down the back of the two pillars.

Only thing I don't like about the KS7000, are the feet being far apart instead of central.

All good though if you have a wide enough stand.

I prefer the wide stand so I can get the sound bar under the TV. The 8000 (my preferred choice) has a central stand - nowhere to place the sound bar.

BTW we have a mega wide cupboard the TV will sit on

Wow awesome thank you.... my KS8000 is sitting on my mirror which is laying flat on my desk as feet to wide.

Any reason you prefer the KS8000?

Minimal difference AFAIK, apart from the stand :p

Well I'm very happy with the 55KS7000. Turned off the motion plus stuff as that seems to be the root of some people's stutter complaints. It's no OLED but nor was it OLED money. Quite happy to use this for the next 5 years till OLED is more main stream.

^^ How is the back cover on the tv held on ? can it not be re attached ?

This TV cost just under a grand...

lol

Its not my responsibility...

But no...Its clips and sticky glue....Press the back doen until the clips click then about 10 seconds later the back just goes pop...and pops out again.
