Just using the very lastest Nvidia drivers, i certainly hope its not the wire i was using as that would suck, i loved the unit but i cudnt live with dead pixel/poor res

It would be a shame if it was only the cable as i'm very impressed with the tv.
I got mine for £575 delivered by the way.

This is the most AMAZING TV I've ever owned. The quality from the PC is just stunning. I've just had a game of COD2 and it was like a different game to playing it on the PC screen; and definitely superior to the 360 version too.

Thanks to everyone who recommended it!

Jeez I feel really cheated, there is obviously wrong somewhere with the one I had. I've just sent that back and ordered the LG 26LX2R now

Tommy, what are using to connect it up to your PC and what GFX card do you have?

I've got an X1900XT and I'm using a DVI>VGA adapter. The text is razor sharp, as is everything else for that matter.

I wouldn't worry, I'm sure your LG TV will be exactly the same, but I have honestly been completely blown away by my TV.

Whats the refresh rate on an LE26R72BX? I've got a feeling those tvs only go to 60hz.

I have my monitor on 75Hz, but on 60Hz it gives me a bad headache!

60Hz might be inappropriate for close viewing.

LCD 60hz are stable. 60hz on a CRT are unbearable. I've used around 5 LCD's all 60hz no flicker, unlike CRT which really need 100hz.

Have you seen a LCD going?

You'll need to..

Use a Software DVD player that'll integrated with FFDSHOW filters. Power DVD won't do this. Theatretek will.

Set your desktop rez to LCD panel native. You can either send non-native ie 1360x768 but make sure the panel isn't stretching (ie the LG) or use Powerstrip to create a custom rez.

Install DVD player and FFDSHOW. Enable resize and aspect mode, enter in your native panel rez in the box. Click OSD. Open TT and select FFDSHOW from the filters.

This is where I get stuck. TT doesn't have a filters menu, only a "post processing" box where you can select FDDSHOW as the primary option. However, nothing happens - no green text appears???

When you playback a AVI file in Media Player/media centre green text should appear like this

input : 480 x 320
output : 1366 x 768

It should also appear when playing back a Mpeg-II DVD disc also.

That shows FFDSHOW is working and scaling. Different scaling options effect picture quality, ie Lancos, Bicubic. Mess around with them. Lancos with 2 taps seem ok.

You need to enable RAW in FFDSHOW.

I've changed that to "All Supported" but I'm still not getting anything?

I have literally just installed FFDSHOW and TT so I haven't changed any default options.

The green text appears in WMP and it works fine but not in TT. Having said that the quality is absolutely incredible from TT so I guess it's working.

Just tested a DVD-VIdeo in TT and green text does indeed show FFDSHOW is enabled and scaling

input 720 x 470
output 1024x 768

FFDSHOW Video Decoder Information, Codecs (top) then RAW (bottom) to "all supported" and in TT post processing to FFDSHOW

In the Supported Codecs tab, with the "Format" and "Decoder" columns; most of the decoder options are set to disabled.

For example, DivX and Xvid are set to libavcodec, but MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG in AVI/DV are set to "disabled"

Is this right?

Yes, you only need to set RAW. From a fresh FFDSHOW install I only go into resize & aspect section, tick the arrow, and select whatever the native rez of the panel, then RAW to all supported. Wouldn't mind using FFDSHOW to scale WMV and Realtime but can't seem to work out which one.

I've had the LE26R41B in my bedroom for a little over a year now. The quality from the XBox360 and PC are equally amazing. I've recently purchased a LE26R41BDX (with the Freeview) for when I move out at a cost of £480 :D

For some reason I'm getting ghosting when using Theater Tek. It's fine most of the times, but a few nights the ghosting has been absolutely dreadful. The image burns into the screen for about 2 seconds. It isn't the TV though... I hope!
