Samsung mhl adapter help

hi

just bought a official mhl adaptor for my galaxy s2 but I can't get it to work, is there a option somewhere that I need to enable? I've looked in all the options

any help appreciated, thanks

Have you got a power cable plugged in to the adapter as well?

Are you sure it's the S2 version? As I know the S2 version doesn't work on the S3 so it's probably the same if you're trying to use an S3 one on an S2

yep got power to it, I got it off eBay and was advertised as the s2 version. the guy said it was just plug and play

You need to plug in your standard charger into the port next to the inbuilt cable as krooton says.

I've not got the standard plug but I have one that is more powerful and that's plugged in. I've tried two different media players and still no joy

edit. just tried another charger that's not worked either

found out its the rom I've got. just tried my mates phone and it worked straight away
