Just got this little beauty today, as soon as it arrived i swapped out the 1gb for 2gb and wiped the hdd and installed win7 pro, so far so good, loving the build quality and the keyboard is nice too, obviously its an atom n450 so isnt going to set the world on fire but for what its needed for it will be perfect, the dell11z i had has gone back, lack of bluetooth (i know it could have been added) and the huge battery were not to my liking despite the rest of it being pretty good.

Ive yet to test the battery life out on this but im going to charge it over night first and then try it at a day in the office tomorrow.

i may even pluck up the courage to delve inside later, the only hatch on the back is for the ram......

Something else ive just discovered it will allow you to select res above 1024x600, i can select 1024x768 and also 1152x864 but they look odd and slightly fuzzy, but the whole screen is there...?

Not sure if this will work but ill try anyway, also not sure if the wmv files you can download samples of such as this from ms are true hd? But it plays these well!

SNAP! I've had an N210 for over a week now and I love it. I can type just as quick on it's keyboard as on my apple keyboard. It plays 720p video fine but 1080p does stutter a bit. Having said that, I have had some 1080p video work ok.

You wont get 12hrs out of it but I've had 8 or so which in real world terms is pretty amazing really.

My only complaint is the weight of it for its size and the cost. It is a genuine upgrade to the NC10 though I reckon.

Have you tried any games yet?

I havent tried anything games yet how about you? I thought the 12hours was abit much I guess in testing i could be done on lowest brightness, no wifi etc it might be possible however even 8 for general usage will be great, im pretty chuffed so far, have you kept the win 7 starter on ?

I got rid of windows 7 starter straight away. Windows 7 seems so very slow without aero enabled and I wanted the opportunity to install fresh win 7 without all Samsungs bloat.

Yeah, I've tried all the good games people say work well on an NC10. They don't work well tbh but I'm very uneasy below 60fps.

That rules out 99% of my games then :p i do recall the original half life games ran ok have you noticed that you can select a higher res too?

Dont suppose youve thought about or actually got a spare psu, im trying to figure out if a nc10 one will fit? the ratings seem the same....

The whole point of a pinetrail netbook is that you don't need a spare battery (assuming you meant battery and not PSU). I get plenty of juice out of the battery supplied.

If you do mean PSU i'm sure they're readilly available or will be soon.

I meant psu, id prefer to have one sitting at home and one at work, id rather use it on mains than using the battery that way it will last longer?

very nice, design is better than nc10 and previous samsunng models, keyboard looks better too,..

there's also n220 samsung available, what is difference between them?
Is this new atom CPU better then n280/n270 in performance?
or it just improves battery life!

after you upgrade to 2gb- no battery life decrease?

which OS better install on notebooks?

My guess is the cpu will be the same as the n280 as its the same speed and bus speed 667 apposed to 533 of the N270, not that there is much between them, i cant comment on the battery as i changed to 2gb after i unboxed it but its possible, ive got win7 pro installed on mine, i guess xp would be the quickest

N220 has different keyboard layout and horrible colours

N450 is marginally faster and the graphics are now on the CPU. Power lower is main advantage.

2gb upgrade had no effect for me in terms of speed or battery use. don't bother tbh.

Windows 7 home premium - forget windows 7 starter.
Dual boot with Ubuntu!! :)

It looks really nice.

Oh, and in reply to Bradmax. Running on AC power all the time destroys your battery. If you're doing that make sure you remove the battery first. Read up on laptop battery care.

ah :)

I thought it was the other way around in that it bypassed the battery once it was charged thanks for that

I personaly leave the battery in all the time. The UPS value of the battery is much greater then a possibly slightly reduced life.

Well yes, but the point is that you barely ever need to charge the thing because it's so bloomin great. The chances of a battery failure creeping up on you all of a sudden are incredibly small.

I also tried half life. Can't set correct resolution and it's just too old for me now.
