Mine has developed a white lump like ball thing on the display, only visable with white backgrounds.

Think i can get it replaced ?

Has anyone unbranded there Omnia?

I fancied updating my firmware but it seems as im with T-Mobile i have been shafted again as my Omnia is locked with the code BOHH5.

I have to seriously thank you guys, my battery is as good as my N95-8GB now, it was charged on sunday lunchtime, and even with HDSPA enabled and loads of calls (work phone) and texts, I still have 40% left, I think its quite possibily the best phone I have ever had!

Afternoon all. Can anyone advise me on what the best Firmware to use now is? I am using ROM Version DXHI3 and also where to get it from? I have flashed to this version earlier and and happy todo it, however This http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-rom-discussion/283964/samsung-i900-omnia-custom-rom-27-02-2009/ has worried and confused me. Does the

* If you have never updated your Omnia with custom rom and your rom's version is earlier than ??HG4 (for example DXHG3, ABC and number order HE7 < HF1 < HG2 < HG4 < HH7 < HI3 < HJ1 < etc...) first and ALWAYS update with the official Samsung firmware form here (Select Philippines): OFFICIAL SAMSUNG FIRMWARE

* If you have never updated your Omnia with custom rom and your Omnia's version ends with ??HG4 (for example DXHG4) or later (ABC and number order HG4 < HH7 < HI3 < HJ1 < etc...) you can update this firmware first: ***FIRST-STEP FIRMWARE UPDATE*** for Omnia version ??HG4 and later

* If you updated you Omnia with custom rom before, you can install this update directely

STEPS:

1. Install Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 (once)
2. Install Samsung Modem Driver (but driver is included in the official firmware updater!) OMNIA XP MODEM DRIVER
3. Backup your data
4. Turn off your phone
5. Connect it to the PC via USB cable
6. Start Firmware update application
7. Turn on your phone
8. Click on Start button in the firmware update application and wait until "Jobs Done." will appear on the blue loading bar
9. After Jobs Done, and your Omnia is restarted and you see the Omnia logo, remove the usb cable!!!

Only apply if you installing CUSTOM Roms? or? Please help

E-mail me if it is easier! E-mail is on profile.

Cheers :-)

Anyone had experience with sending their Omnia off for repair? The left one quarter of my screen has stopped responding to touch so I've arranged for repair.

What kind of turnaround time have you experienced?

I couldnt go through anyone except samsung as i got it second hand. Although they were amazing with me, the phone is now mine, as in I puchased it in september as it was only made in august. Everything is in my name with no need for proof of purchase. I was honest etc and said i got it second hand, but the tech support guy needed info before he could repair it, so filled it all in for me :D

The turn around was a long time, but the guy said it had to go to them because any local shop engineers hadn't been trained to fix them then (december).

However I have heared of people who got them new (through shops, etc, phone companies) having a turn around of 24 hours. :) Guess I was just unlucky. As with everything else it seems!

Can someone tell me which port splitter program to use for my Omnia. I have been using GPS gate but I was under the impression that there are some free alternatives out there. Im just not sure what they are called. If someone can point me in the the right direction that would be great!

:)

had my phone for 2 days now i find it amazing, bit complicated at first, upgraded my rom plus installed the apps needed allso love the spd mobile skins. using igo8 satnav with zero problems.

just put DZ singapor rom on using vmware. manilla 22 is buggy so im on 19b atm, the new asphalt game is ace haha

battery seems to last a while too :)

I'm on DTHJ5, i might do an upgrade now!

Been fiddling about with the Omnia again, managed to get my Omnia to play live TV! (SkyNew and some other rubish things). Got some good games, using it as my webcam for MSN, TomTom seems to connect super fast now to. Got it working as a wifi router to! Over 112mb of space left, before i had 6mb. :)

Need to hunt for some more games now.

What do you guys use for music? I want a nice UI that can make playlists easy, or let me scroll through artists/albums similar to an ipod.
