right iv made up my mind between the 2 screens the sony 23" ( SDMP234B )
and samsung 24" (SM244T) just can make up my mind the sony is £45 more so there is not an out and aout winner spec is almost the same both have great reviews im stuck and i dont want the 24"dell for those who want to say buy that one thanks

Just pick either the sony or samsung, and start using it , its a monitor, not a life sentence. ;) Look at the amount of cover you get from both makes, and pick the best, or the cheapest.

by that comment you have never bought somthing thats over a few hundred £(and i can see that by your sad rig lol) spending over £900 on a monitor is a big deal to me and i want to make sure i get the right one

Hi there

I have one of these but it is the original version. It's a bit confusing because the specs have changed then changed back? For example the original version has 2 x VGA ports and 1 x DVI. The P234B was released which had HDMI and DVI ports but no VGA. The response rate was decreased to 8ms but the contrast ratio was also reduced.

Now the screen has reverted back to the original specs and has the legacy ports :(

I'd go for the 24 incher. An inch @ 1920x1200 makes a big impact on text readability. I'd say 25 or 26" would make best fit for 1920x1200.
