Hi, i dont know if anyone can help here...

My girlfriends grandfather just recently bought a samsung flat panel. The nice ones that everyone raves out. HD etc :), however

Hes only had it a few days and the screen goes black every so often. Its when the image on the screen changes to something differnt. if you catch my drift. Say you were watching the weather.. it would be fine... then as soon as it cuts back to the newsroom the image goes black, as if its catching up.

sometimes it stays black for ages.

I checked all cable connections. Hes called for an engineer to look at it when he returns from holiday. But i was wondering if it was a setup problem and not a fault.

It does it both through the digital reciever, and through sky box

Thanks

hmm, i have one of these Tv's, only glitch it has is with freeview when *** sound cracks and the picture goes pixilated, but thats due t oour ancient arial that im hoping falls down anytime soon! Does sound like a hardware fault.

sound like the dynamic contrast that samsung use playing up. just switch it to film mode and see if it does the same thing.

Thanks for the replys . will try that dynamic thing for him if i get the chance, but it certainly shouldnt be doing this on a new set.

Defo shouldn't be doing that. Me and my bro have the Samsung sets and they work great, I'd try and get that replaced or fixed.
