Just noticed this TV available at £449 with 5yr warranty.

Would this be a good buy or is there any better offers out there at the moment?

TV will be connected to a computer/htpc most of the time.

I wouldnt bother, it's not full HD only HD Ready. With that size of a screen it's not worth it unless its Full 1080 especially if you are connecting it to a PC.

Look at the 550 version which is full HD

Just looking at the Panasonic Viera TX-P50ST30 which seems to be on offer too at £700 inc two pairs of 3d glasses. Pondering over whether the extra money will be worthwhile as we dont intend to use 3D.

Would really like something that comes with an extended warranty (pref 5yrs).

John Lewis is the place to buy the telly from then in your case, 5 year warranty is included in the price.
