Samsung QE55Q8FAM or LG OLED55B7V?

should not mention the 'w*a* H*f*' word too much on here, many, self included, have little respect for them ,but yes, Pan oled is currently more expensive.
I trust Vincents' review much more, and without being able to audition in your house, you have to trust someone.

I love Vincent's reviews and have been watching a lot of them recently. I am put off by the lack of Dolby Vision, magenta-tinted coating and stuttering in scenes with mixed film/ video text.

Looking to buy a 55” version of these or the Sony equivalent.

How is the UI responsiveness on them all?

I would expect a pretty fast UI on a higher end TV in 2017!

No idea why anyone would buy ancient tech like LCD when oled is now attainable.

Ok, I get that LCD still has its place at the cheap end of the market, but when you're spending £1500+ on a top end TV it makes zero sense to buy LCD.

They can rename it QLED or whatever they like, it's still LCD and inferior to oled.

To be honest, I'm surprised at Samsung still peddling LCD TVs when they are one of the top manufacturers of oled phone screens.

You have no idea why? did you know OLED screen size start at 55" and a lot of people myself includid do not have a big enough room for it

I was going to go for the LG, however, having done some more research, LGs/retailers attitudes to not covering burn in under warranty means I’m probably going to buy the Samsung.

I was prepared to take the LG on the balance of probability knowing any issues would be covered, now that sellers/LG aren’t doing the right thing means the Samsung it is.

Shame, the OLED would have looked better.

Just get it from JL with extended warranty. Worse case scenario it gets burn in and on the same day someone accidentally knocks it off the av cabinet ;)

I got my 65B7 on the weekend btw and this is the first time i've been fully happy with a panel since CRT days.

Yeah you have to have a credit account with them and not made a purchase. But turns out if you get less credit than the actual price, it still lets you use the code and pay however you want. My mate ordered one earlier. He opened a credit account with them and they only offered £1000. He then paid with another method and still allowed the discount to go through.

Same could be said years ago about plasma vs LCD...
And people still bought high prices LCD

Not quite the same. Plasma had some glaring issues too and it came down to personal preference. I returned various panny plasmas over the years for led panels. Oled is a clear jump without, for me at least, any significant issues.

I personally bought 2 quite high-priced LCD's in the "LCD Vs Plasma" era for the simple fact that when I went to buy, looking at everything side-by-side I found the LCD on each and every occasion something nicer to look at.
I'm still on one of those LCD's now (I am looking to replace next year) - but still rate the panel.
