** SAMSUNG QUANTUM DOT 144Hz 1ms VA GAMING MONITORS EXCLUSIVE at OcUK!! **

Pretty much, the purple thing bothers me the most. Though I have read somewhere that samsung is aware of it and can fix it with a firmware update at a repair center. So I assume the 27 inch won't have it hopefully.

I haven't seen this. Can anyone come up with a source?

@Gibbo - can you ask Samsung about this. If it can be fixed I'll definitely order one.

This issue came up on overclock forum for owners of the 24". I already asked about the purple shift on the deal section and ScottiB has not been able to reproduce it. It could well be that only certain early models have it. Your best bet is to wait for better reviews and more feedback. That is what i will be doing for the 21:9 model.

I saw people hoping that it could be fixed via firmware ... but nothing more.

Not exactly true, because people have been ordering new ones here and there, and those were produced in October so they weren't the first batch of of monitors.

They still have the problem and the effect could easily be reproduced by using a single picture that is posted on the overclock forum. But also simply try to do that they show you in the videos which should be easily noticeable.

But yea, I just hope it IS fixed and that kind of makes me happy that we had to wait for the monitor here so they will have some fixed stuff.

Also to PMC25, someone contacted with samsung and they told him to bring the monitor to a repair center to update the firmware. Though it seems the only samsung department that are aware of it is American, not even Canada

"Ships by 30/12"

Yeah, I'm not interested in the freesync version but rather the reviews that if they've been under NDA till release may crop up.

More interested in how good it is so I can get an indication of whether or not it's worth waiting for the G sync version that will follow next year.

Looking forward to seeing what tftcentral and PCMonitors make of this QD ultrawide.

Best

A 49" KS7000 is a grand now. Beats any £900 pc monitor for picture modes and calibration and a lot bigger. Also, HDR from consoles which I doubt these will do. I suppose if you like high refresh but that KS7000 does 120hz in 1080p anyway. So maybe you want freesync also - then maybe you are the few remaining customers who shouldn't buy the infinitely bigger tv.

It also has a ton more input lag than the majority of pc monitors. :(

I will write a ten page essay explain the tech next time in full detail next time

how about a few sentences for us newbs ... whats hdr and how does it work as compared to other stuff like oled va panels lcd and all the tv stuff they talk about quantum dot etc ...

The rumoured 34" is also true and OcUK hopes to take the first delivery of those in January and expect the price to be around £900. :)

So basically this will be around £900 for the Freesync version, yes? So presumably for the Gsync variant slap another 4-500 notes on top, roughly.

Hmm its a bit rich for my blood, but if the reviews are good enough I may well just crumble and buy one anyway. Hurry up Vega!
