Had to RMA a drive to Samsung. Posted it Tuesday. Got a mail first thing Wednesday saying replacement shipped. Friday Drive arrives. Bear in mind Wednesday and Thursday here are Public Holidays so no mail deliveries. Now thats impressive. :cool: :D
 
Got to love how some companies have great response times and others are absolutely dire :(

I remember having to FedEx a graphics card to France once (cost at least £25) as that was the only way they'd accept it and the replacement took 2 weeks.
 
Same experience here also with Samsung. The drive reported failure in their fitness test after a power cut (drive was nearly 3 years old anyway). I backed everything up, sent it off and got a replacement within days.

I've had a variety of P80s P120s and now am looking to getting the new 400gb drive. Each time i am in the market I look at other manufacturers, but always come back to the samsung for silence and quality.

having probs with my sammy hdd too :(
should i format before i RMA,might be some personal P2P ;) on there see :D
and cant get the samsung diagnostic app to work :confused: keep getting the smart error at bootup got to press F1 to continue pain in the butt as it is in my DL machine
opinions please :)

You could turn the SMART off for the time being, wont get any errors there although they will still be there :)

And as a rule of thumb, if i sell a HDD or RMA one i always format it a couple of times. I know there are ways and expensive means they can recover all the data if they wanted, but i very much doubt Samsung would do that :)
 
good advice m8,have ordered new hdd from OCUK should be here tomorrow,then will get the new drive up and running before i rma back to sammy,and use the replacement drive in another pc or maybe sell it on :)
